On June 3 the Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov spoke at the final session of the International Conference on Ophthalmosurgery "East-West - 2016" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Ufa Eye Research Institute. The Head of the Republic congratulated the staff of medical institution with this significant date and handed over state awards.

Before the session Rustem Khamitov got acquainted with the exhibition of ophthalmic equipment used in Ufa Eye Research Institute. For instance, there were presented such devices as a unique in Russia OCT device intended for the early diagnosis of retinal and optic nerve diseases; scanner of ocular media; innovative refractive diagnostic equipment for preoperative diagnostics.
